ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Our Process
1. Design Discovery Call
Let's Talk! During our Design Discovery Call, we will get to know you, your project, your needs and wants, your investment range and what your ideal dream home is all about. We've done this a few times.
With the help of our in-depth Design Discovery questionnaire, and meeting with our team, we will get to understand your goals, any special considerations and bring you clarity on how we can help.
2. Conceptual Design
Using the information from the Design Discovery, our team gets to work on your custom home design. We will present you with conceptual designs for your project to formulate and clarify the project's overall direction, vibe, mood, and space planning. We consider how the plan will be positioned on your site and how it will relate with the sun at different times throughout the year.
At this step, your project starts to take its initial shape. Think of this as a rough sketch or an outline of what we will be creating in the more detailed phases to come.
3. Schematic Design
During Schematic Design, we transform your approved conceptual designs and design the preliminary floor plan and outline of your custom home.
At this stage, all of the rooms are laid out in plan and we can observe how they will flow and relate to one other.
4. Design Development
During Design Development, we refine and develop your design. We identify and create solutions. We thoroughly consider all aspects of your new custom home design, such as the view out of each window, if there is enough shoe space in the walk-in closet, or what your guests will see during a dinner party,
We create detailed plans and elevations as well as 3D renderings to flesh out any additional design elements that are needed to get us to your final design.
5. Construction Documents
Construction Documents are drafted and issued for all necessary approvals and building permits, and your builder to use to finally start work and begin to build your home.
Here is the literal Blueprint of how to turn your custom home from dream to reality!
6. Construction Observation
During Construction, many things can and will go wrong. Wouldn't it be nice to have the project's architectural designer on-site as your advocate and expert to verify your dream home is being built with the quality and standards you expect? We conduct regular site visits to observe the work being performed and ensure your home's design intent is being fully realized with accuracy and quality.
We partner with your builder and trades to ensure the construction process runs smoothly, and issues get resolved quickly, saving you time and saving you money.
